Neurodivergent-Affirming CBT
Redusing distress and build practical coping strategies
Service Description
Neurodivergent-Affirming CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is an adapted form of CBT that focuses on understanding how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact in a way that respects your neurodivergent identity. Rather than trying to change who you are or encourage masking, the emphasis is on reducing distress, building practical coping strategies, and supporting your wellbeing in ways that fit you. Therapy is collaborative and flexible, working at your pace and using approaches that match how you think and process information. Together, we can explore challenges such as anxiety, overwhelm, self-criticism, or executive functioning difficulties, while also recognising your strengths and lived experience. The aim is not to make you more “typical,” but to help you navigate life with greater ease, self-understanding, and self-acceptance, in a way that feels authentic and sustainable for you.
